World-lean-ess!

As the scriptures teach us, we are living in perilous times (2 Tim.3:1). It has come to a point where technological advancements have empowered men to gain access to massive amounts of knowledge. This phenomenon draws my attention to what happened in the Garden of Eden, where the serpent beguiled Eve to eat of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. Such access to knowledge has caused a massive shift in global consciousness and awareness amongst people to materialism, selfishness, pride, bigotry, envy, lust, covetousness, hatred and the like. It has had its negative impact upon every soul of man. However, this has gone virtually undetected because the cancer has been hidden by all the worldliness that the devil has successfully planted amongst God's people. My point is, God's epitome of creation - man, has grown to lean more on the world and far less on His Word. Hence the title World-Lean-ess.

It is my understanding that the  majority so called christian leaders, whether in the area of music, teaching, pastorship etc. all have been heavily influenced by worldly lusts. This is strongly reflected in their ministries. Christian rappers who started off rapping "Christ in my rhymes" and "He is the life of my lines" have begun declaring their profession over their salvation!

Pastors are busy building organizations and church buildings (least bothered about biblical teachings about the church), they have forgotten the command and instruction to make disciples of nations and perfect everyone in Christ. They have more importance for secular people, politicians and celebrities than the soul of every man. They are working hard to amass huge amounts of wealth and less of the salvation of the souls!

Isn't it surprising that most of the church youth would want to be more of a worship leader and less of an evangelist. More of "is tattoos allowed in the Bible" debater and less of a teacher of holiness and righteousness. More of a fashion icon and less of a godly person. More of a person who would socialize and less of a worldliness denouncer?

Now some might disagree with what I said. And this is exactly my point. This disagreement is proof positive of how much the church has drifted into the world. For those who agree, Shalom, Shalom.

Listen to what the apostle Paul taught young Timothy, a budding evangelist and pastor - Thou therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy. 1:3). Every breath of Paul's instruction to Timothy entailed a strong exhortation to endure sufferings. There are myriads of passages that speak to this effect of separation from the world. I believe there are spiritual people who have not bowed their knees to Baal. There are many eagerly waiting the coming of our Lord who will purge this world of it's filth and wickedness. When an atheistic worldview has nothing to offer, the Eternal Father has offered His Eternal Son Jesus Christ on the cross to bring eternal justice to every one who seeks Him sincerely in faith and love, by translating them to His Eternal Kingdom!

It is my prayer that His flock will be strengthened to remain spotless and blameless unto the coming of the great Shepherd and Bishop of our souls. I have only endeavored to spark a desire for separation from worldly lusts by clearly defining our position in Christ amongst a crooked and perverse generation. Hope this blog has blessed you and most importantly caused you to think of our Christian walk with respect to being unspotted from this world - In the world but not of the world.
